Steve Dickerson is committed to ensuring every student in Tennessee has access to great public education and opportunities for a bright future. Steve Dickerson will be a leader in helping Tennessee build on our historic gains in education by supporting school choice, ensuring accountability in our schools, supporting innovation in education, and securing economic freedom for all.
As a doctor with more than twenty years of experience, Steve Dickerson can use his experience and medical expertise to help Nashville beat the Coronavirus pandemic safely. That means increasing access to health care and ensuring no student is left behind because of online learning or COVID restrictions – at every level. For Pre-K, Sen. Dickerson sponsored and passed legislation to improve early childhood education. For K-12, he voted to empower parents to choose the best school for their children by allowing them to apply to attend public schools outside of their zone and has helped pass legislation to expand technical and work-based learning to better prepare Tennessee students for college and career. And for college, he has written and passed legislation to make tuition pricing transparent and helped pass legislation to allow high school students receive college credits and lower the cost of post-secondary education.
