Jon Lundberg is committed to ensuring every student in Tennessee has access to great public education and opportunities for a bright future. Jon Lundberg will be a leader in helping Tennessee build on our historic gains in education by supporting school choice, ensuring accountability in our schools, supporting innovation in education, and securing economic freedom for all.
Jon Lundberg’s career took him all across the country – until he decided to make East Tennessee his home three decades ago. Since the award‑winning broadcast journalist joined WCYB-TV in Bristol, he has been active in serving the community through organizations like the Tennessee Human Development Agency, Rocky Mount Living History Museum, the Neff Center for Science & Technology, Bristol Chamber of Commerce, Bristol Rotary Club, Tusculum College President’s Advisory Board, and King College’s President’s Roundtable. In national service with a 29-year career in the Naval Reserves, and in Nashville with his work on the Senate Education Committee, Lundberg has shown excellent leadership. In the legislature, he voted to empower parents to choose the best school for their children by allowing them to apply to attend public schools outside of their zone. Sen. Lundberg also helped pass legislation to help high school students receive college credits and lower the cost of post-secondary education.
